The Creole Zydeco Farmers

You ask yourself, “Are they really farmers?” The answer, yes they are. Their name reflects zydeco’s roots in southwest Louisiana’s farming communities. Hailing from Lafayette, Louisiana, the Creole Zydeco Farmers have traveled extensively throughout the world spreading their brand of Zydeco. One of the few bands today playing traditional Zydeco, the Farmers come to party whenever and wherever they perform. They expect their fans to do the same. The band, whose members started as backup players for accordion great Fernest Arceneaux, features singing and accordion work done by Warren Prejean.  Clarence “Jockey” Etienne was a studio drummer for the legendary Excello Record label.  He has recorded with many greats including Fats Domino, Katie Webster, Lazy Lester and Slim Harpo.

To date the Farmers have released 6 CDs. Their current project is in the finishing stage and will be released in the spring/summer of 2005.  Performing together for over 15 years, the Farmers have received a numerous amount of performance and achievement awards from around the globe.  Like fine wine, the Farmers get better and better.  Their fans all over the world flock to their shows. Do not miss them when they are in your town!
